Botswana Fibre Networks officially launched its BoFiNet Strategy 2020 on the 6th of September 2017 in Gaborone, Botswana. The strategy launch was to highlight the new pillars and goals set by the organization to be achieved between financial years 2017/18 to 2019/20.

BoFiNet’ s Strategy 2020 is guided by three strategic themes, being; 

Strategic Theme 1: National Broadband Coverage. 

Strategic Theme 2:  Service and Operational Excellence. 

Strategic Theme 3:  Operational Sustainability.


When launching the strategy, Chairman of the BoFiNet Board of Directors Ratsela Mooketsi said that it was important to reflect on where we started as an organization and where we want to be in the future. “Having been established in 2013, we can look back with pride on the strides we have made thus far. We started as a very small organization with a big mandate to implement. As I speak to you, we have deployed and continue to deploy broadband infrastructure in almost all the four (4) corners of the country”.

He further pointed out that BoFiNet realises that ‘doing business as usual’ is not an option anymore, one has to be creative to ensure that they get the lion’s share of the market. 

Mr. Mooketsi also implored BoFiNet staff to put the customer at the centre of their activities. “The Customer Satisfaction Survey that we undertook last year pointed to certain areas that need improvement; issues around stakeholder engagement, issues around service quality on the end-user side and issues of pricing were among those that need to be seriously looked into, hence our renewed commitment, through this strategy, to address them.”, added Mooketsi.
