BoFiNet would like to invite suitably qualified individuals to join its Risk and Compliance Committee of the Board as a Co-opted Member.
The Qualification criteria in respect of the candidate for the above vacancy is as follows:
- Substantial knowledge and experience in risk management, compliance, and governance practices.
- Applicants must have attained a minimum of a Master’s Degree or similar qualification in Risk Management or a related discipline.
- Suitably experienced risk management specialist with a minimum of 8 years’ experience in risk management. Thorough understanding of the risk management principles and application of good corporate governance, business and operational risk and control processes and procedures. Human Relations Skills, Interpersonal, Good Communication Skills and a high level of Computer Literacy are essential.
- The Candidate should be independent, to provide objective and unbiased advice.
- Having a Professional Standing would be an added advantage: (i) Professional graduate accreditations and memberships (ii) Continuous professional development certification.
- Have a full understanding of applicable laws, regulations, and standards relevant to the Company’s operations.
- Previous experience serving on a Board can be advantageous.
The duties and responsibilities and skills of the Candidate shall include the following:
- Providing oversight to;
- Identified potential risks that could impact the Company and their assessed likelihood and potential impact.
- BoFiNet compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.
- Developed and recommend strategies to mitigate identified risks, including contingency plans.
- Monitoring of the effectiveness of risk management and compliance programs, making adjustments as necessary to improve their efficiency.
- Ways to improve the BoFiNet’s risk management and compliance processes, incorporating new tools, techniques, and industry developments.
- Communication to effectively collaborate with Governing Body Members and other stakeholders.
- Must maintain a high ethical standard and a commitment to integrity and accountability.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and assess potential risks and compliance issues.
