BoFiNet is seeking applications from qualified individuals for the position of Legal and Compliance Specialist to join our dynamic team.

Botswana Fibre Networks (Pty) Ltd, a company wholly owned by the state, established in 2012, serves as the wholesale provider of national and international telecommunication infrastructure in Botswana, with a focus on enhancing the country's backbone network and internet infrastructure.

Academic Qualification and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in law, from a recognized University, post graduate qualification is an added advantage.

• In good standing with Law Society of Botswana.

• Must have a minimum of five (5) years’ post qualification experience.

• Must have experience and comfort working with regulatory compliance monitoring and reporting tools.

• Previous experience in a supervisory role is an added advantage.

Key responsibilities and skills of the Candidate shall include the following:

• Assist the company with contracting responsibilities.

• Facilitate various legal advisories on various aspects of the business.

• Drafting and cascading of departmental policies.

• Manage regulatory compliance monitoring and reporting of the business.

• Is responsible for coordinating and updating the departmental legal risk registers.

• Is responsible for team learning and supervision of legal officers.

• Minute taking for Board and Board Committees.

• Responsible for statutory Board record keeping.

• Reporting to the Legal Counsel and Board Secretary.
