OUR PROJECTS


 

Tsabong – Two Rivers Fibre Deployment

This is an extension of the Sekoma/Tsabong project, deploying underground fibre from Tsabong to Two Rivers at a total distance of 310km. Sites to be covered are Kolonkwaneng site, Middlepits site, Gakhibana site, Rapplespan site, Vaalhoek site and Struizendam site.

The project and others are aimed at modernizing our network, increasing our reach as well as improving internet connectivity. 

This infrastructure will enable services to be added and dropped in these villages leaving them with the capacity and capability to host high speed access network stations such as 4G and other wireless technologies.

The project is ongoing, and is expected to be complete on 31st March 2016


 Mohembo – Gudigwa Fibre Deployment 

This is an extension of the Sehithwa/Mohembo project, deploying underground fibre from Mohembo to Gudigwa at a total distance of 162km. Villages to be covered are Mohembo East, Kauxwi, Xakau, Sekondomboro, Nkarange, Mogotlho, Mokgacha, Seronga, Gunotsoga, Eretsha, Beetsha and Gudigwa.

The project and others are aimed at modernizing our network, increasing our reach as well as improving internet connectivity.

This infrastructure will enable services to be added and dropped in these villages leaving them with the capacity and capability to host high speed access network stations such as 4G and other wireless technologies.

The project is ongoing, and is expected to be complete on 31st March 2016


 Kachikau – Parakarungu Fibre Deployment

This is an extension of the Sehithwa/Mohembo project, deploying underground fibre from Mohembo to Gudigwa at a total distance of 162km. Villages to be covered are Mohembo East, Kauxwi, Xakau, Sekondomboro, Nkarange, Mogotlho, Mokgacha, Seronga, Gunotsoga, Eretsha, Beetsha and Gudigwa.

 Selebi Phikwe – Mathathane Fibre Deployment 

This project entails deploying underground fibre from Phikwe to Bobonong being a distance of 160 km. Villages to be covered are Selebi-Phikwe, Sefophe, Bobonong, Molalatau to Mathathane.

The project and others are aimed at modernizing our network, increasing our reach as well as improving internet connectivity. 

This infrastructure will enable services to be added and dropped in these villages leaving them with the capacity and capability to host high speed access network stations such as 4G and other wireless technologies.

The project is ongoing, and is expected to be complete on 30th April 2016


Okavango River Crossing Fibre Deployment

The project entails deploying underground fibre for the Okavango River Basin Crossing at Mohembo Ferry.

This project and others are aimed at modernizing our network, increasing our reach as well as improving internet connectivity.

The project is ongoing, and is expected to be complete on 31st March 2016


 Local Access Projects

Construction of the underground local optical fibre cable in villages and towns. 

These projects are aimed at modernizing our network, increasing our reach as well as improving internet connectivity. 

This infrastructure will enable services to be added and dropped in these villages and towns leaving them with the capacity and capability to host high speed access network stations such as 4G and other wireless technologies.

Bobonong and Tsabong Local Loops projects are ongoing, and their expected completion dates is  31st March 2016.

Tender evaluation for main contractor procurement for Selebi-Phikwe, Serowe, Palapye, Mogoditshane, Lobatse Local Loops ongoing.

 Francistown Local Loops project  is ongoing.


 Government Data Network Project

Botswana Fibre Networks (Pty) Ltd (BOFINET) is procuring and project managing the Government Data Network (GDN) upgrade project on behalf of the Department of Information Technology (DIT).

The project entails conducting a network and data center assessment of devices and applications that make up the current Botswana GDN infrastructure at various locations across the country; including Virtual Private Networks (VPN) extensions of the GDN to Botswana’s 28 foreign missions across the globe.

The project is ongoing.
